It has been a great few months for young people’s theatre here at klpac. The T4YP Ensemble completed a sell-out 5-performance run of Hamlet in Pentas 2 over last weekend. It was certainly a nerve-wracking but worthwhile experience for the entire production team. Thank you for being part of the audience.
Season 2009 concludes with our very first T4YP Lab which features 6 original short plays (on our favourite social media website) from playwrights Mark Beau de Silva, Nandang Abdul
Rahman and Alex Chua. To be directed by Kelvin Wong, Mukabuku runs from November 20 to 22 in Pentas 2. The T4YP blog will be providing mroe details soon.
We are also proud to announce that T4YP has been named as one of three nominees for the AYA Youth-friendly Company of the Year Award. This award seeks to recognise companies that have believed, invested and made the difference in the positive development of youth in Malaysia, giving hope to generations to come.
Please do vote for us via SMS or online at: http://bit.ly/GoM9y. We appreciate your support and encouragement as every vote counts.
About the AYA Dream Malaysia Awards
5th year running, the AYA Dream Malaysia Awards is about our future – and the people who are farsighted enough to invest in it. Started in year 2005, the Awards is in line with AYA’s
objective of building tomorrow’s leaders today and to create a better and brighter future
for Malaysia by inspiring, inciting and inculcating responsible attitudes and actions
especially – but not exclusively – in the hearts and minds of our youths.
This Awards serves as an encouragement to emerging individuals and responsible institutions
to persevere in their dreams of improving the quality of life for themselves and for those
around them in spite of the difficulties and obstacles they encounter.
About Asian Youth Ambassadors
Asian Youth Ambassadors (AYA) is a non-profit organisation founded in Malaysia for the primary purpose of “inviting, inspiring, instructing and involving young people to dare to dream and be responsible in fulfilling those dreams for the good of all”.
AYA’s main priority is a commitment to raising leaders of admirable standards and excellence, believing that sound and solid leaders determine the overall health (spirit, mind and body) of a whole generation as it does a whole nation.
Started over 14 years ago by Kenneth and Sandra Chin, a lawyer and a company secretary
respectively, AYA has been touching over 6,000 youths each year through concerts, conferences, community service initiatives and mass media.
More information on the award and AYA can be found here: http://www.ayaawards.com/about.cfm
