Open Auditions for T4YP's SEASON 2013

klpac’s Theatre For Young People (T4YP) programme celebrates 6 years as Malaysia’s leading platform for young people to learn the craft of theatre-making. At the heart of T4YP is an intensive 6-month season of productions that provides the backdrop for professional-level actor training conducted in a supportive, safe environment.

We invite young people between the ages of 16 to 25 years old (as of March 2013) to be part of The T4YP Ensemble as actors for T4YP’s SEASON 2013. Previous theatre experience is not essential. However, commitment, creativity and passion are essential.

SEASON 2013 runs for a period of 6 months from April to September, comprising two mainstage productions – a contemporary piece in May and Shakespeare in September which will also tour to penangpac – as well as an experimental theatre season. Ensemble members are required for the ENTIRE duration of the season.

Throughout the season, COMPULSORY weekly rehearsals are conducted as follows: Monday (7.30pm to 10.30pm), Wednesday (7.30pm to 10.30pm), Friday (7.30pm to 10.30pm) and Saturday (2pm to 10.30pm). Ensemble members will also be required to attend rehearsals on certain Sundays (2pm to 10.30pm) as well.

AUDITION DETAILS:
One Day Only: Saturday, March 16
Time slots: 10am to 2pm, 3.15pm to 7.30pm, 8.45pm to 10pm
Venue: Indicine, Level 2, klpac

COME PREPARED WITH:
TWO Monologues of a contrasting nature:
1. ONE Classical Monologue (2 minutes)
Text in verse by Shakespeare, Monologue must be memorised
2. ONE Contemporary Monologue (2 minutes)
Text in prose from any contemporary playwright or any movie screenplay, Monologue must be memorised

OPTIONAL: ONE Song (1 minute)
To be sung acapella

AUDITION IS BY APPOINTMENT ONLY!

Step 1: Tell us in 100 words why you would like to be a part of The T4YP Ensemble. Please include your name, age (as of March 2013) and hand-phone number. Email all entries to: vanessa@klpac.org or sesha@klpac.org. Audition slots are based on successful submissions only.

Step 2: We will give you a call if your application has been successful to offer you an audition slot.

Step 3: Come for the auditions 30 minutes before your audition slot.
DO TAKE NOTE:

• Closing date for Registration: Monday, March 11 by 12pm
• No entries will be accepted after this date.
• No walk-ins will be entertained on the day of the audition.
