Don’t Stress

Nick Dorian writes: Last weekend was the start of the maskwork making process for What Does It Mean To Be…Free? Needless to say, a majority of us were stressing out over how to make these masks leaving our very patient director, Alex Chua, repeating the words “Don’t stress” over and over again to us. It may look simple but it is harder than it looks. Let us take a look into the process of how to make masks shall we.

1) Draw out our mask designs so that we have a clear view of how the mask will look like.

2) Grab the wire and start shaping the wire to make our mask. This was by far the most stressful part of the process.

3) Lay out all the newspaper so we can start the paper mache process.

4) Start tearing newspapers into thin strips for the paper mache.

5) Grab some glue, dip the paper in the glue and start paper mache-ing! This is the best part of the entire process :)

6) Leave the masks out to dry so that we can start drawing and modifying them.

And thus concludes our weekend. Can’t wait for this coming weekend so we can start modifying our masks, painting them and completing them :)
